Seed Testing

Laboratory for seed testing is equipped with modern equipment for analysing quality of arable and vegetable seed:

  • seed purity,
  • seed germination,
  • moisture content determination,
  • seed health testing.

Testing of seed quality is done according to ISTA and Regulation on basic demands for quality, packing and declaration of seed of agricultural plants (NN 133/1999, NN 6/2001).

Scope of Work

  • seed testing for inspection purposes,
  • testing of certain elements of seed quality for the purpose of:
  • Department for plant variety registration and plant variety protection,
  • Department for seed production control.

Memberships

  • Laboratory is member of International Seed Testing Association (ISTA). Code of the laboratory is HRDL03.
  • Laboratory is included in ISTA program of Referee tests, as part of preparation for accreditation for issuing International certificates for seed quality.
